Dossier: For a World without War

The Russian attack on Ukraine demonstrated once again how vulnerable peace in Europe really is — and that the Left needs new concepts for how stable peace could be achieved and what a path to a cooperative security policy in the face of aggressive neighbours might look like. A year later, the Hamas attack in Israel and the latter’s devastating response strained the limits of international law and once again demonstrated the need for effective diplomacy and peaceful means of conflict resolution.

This dossier provides background material for the debate on possible economic and diplomatic means as an alternative to arms deliveries and foreign deployments. Despite and indeed precisely because of the current wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the goal of a world without weapons is worth fighting for.
