Unlike during his first term, this time around Trump and his allies in Big Tech and the oil giants are looking to consolidate their power in a more fundamental way. Foreign policy is guided by dubious territorial claims, illegal military actions, and threats of violence, while domestic policy is shaped by autocratic aspirations, including an outright assault on the opposition, the media, immigrants, and the judiciary.
