Film Premiere: The Delivery Guy

For many young people from South Asia who aspire to build a career in the West, Germany appears to be a promising destination.

They take on enormous financial and emotional burdens to move to cities like Berlin as students – hoping to begin a better life after graduation. But reality often tells a different story: private universities rarely deliver what they promise, and secure employment remain elusive. Many eventually find themselves working as delivery riders for platform companies under precarious conditions.

The Delivery Guy follows the stories of two South Asian immigrants who came to Berlin as students and now work in the food delivery sector. The film sheds light on their hopes, disappointments, and daily struggle for dignity within a system that barely acknowledges their presence.

While the state largely ignores precarious working conditions and unregulated educational institutions, these young people continue to hold on—still believing they might make it in Germany.
