Zum sechsjährigen Jubiläum der Besetzung des Athener Syntagma-Platzes (Mai 2011) soll das Phänomen gelebter Alternativen zum neoliberalen Status quo thematisiert werden. Syntagma gilt vielen als Renaissance alternativer Wirtschafts- und Eigentumsordnungen in Griechenland, welche nach der Platzbesetzung in Form dutzender Grassroots-Organisationen aus dem Boden schossen.
Wie entstanden diese Ideen und Praktiken auf Syntagma? Was ist sechs Jahre danach davon geblieben? Und was können wir in Deutschland von der griechischen Erfahrung lernen? Nach der Vorführung der bislang einzigen Dokumentation über die Syntagma-Platzbesetzung 2011 (The Uncompleted Projectvon Manolis Papadakis, Regie) sollen diese Fragen in einem breiten Publikum diskutiert werden.

With the 6th anniversary of the Syntagma Square occupation approaching, we want to discuss the notion of lived alternatives in a neoliberal status quo. For many, the occupation was an 'experiment of living otherwise', where solidarities, alternative economic orders and the commons were discussed and re-imagined in a broad public. How did these radical ideas and experiments of living otherwise come about in Syntagma Square? What remains of this experience six years onwards? And what can we in Germany learn from all this? After a viewing of the documentary “The Uncompleted Project” on Syntagma Square, we would like to discuss these questions with participants who lived through the occupation.
