Dossier: Good Night, Far Right

Democracy is in crisis around the world, as authoritarian creep grips more and more parts of the globe. Although the situations in the US, Latin America, or Europe differ, the effects of the global shift to the right are similar: human rights are being curtailed and the welfare state is under attack, as heavy-handed methods are being deployed to respond to capitalism’s polycrisis.

In country after country, the Left faces the challenge of developing effective strategies to counter the authoritarian wave. Democratic institutions must be defended, strengthened, and renewed, as we seek not only to stop the shift to the right, but to advance our societies towards socialist transformation.

In the run-up to the Good Night, Far Right conference, our latest dossier highlights not only analysis of the challenges we face, but also the concrete tasks and strategies with which the Left around the world seeks to push back the far right.
