Stefan Mentschel is a political scientist and journalist. He has worked for the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung since 2014, where he was head of the South Asia regional office in New Delhi and deputy director of the Centre for International Dialogue and Cooperation in Berlin. Since 2023, he has headed the regional office for the Mekong region in Hanoi.
