Claus-Dieter König is a political scientist. He completed his doctorate at the Philipps University of Marburg on the political culture of the urban poor in Kenya. He has been working for the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung since 2009, with stints in Brussels and Berlin, but above all as head of the West Africa office in Dakar. Previously, he worked in research, for the Education and Science Trade Union and in software and organisational consulting. He was state chairman of the Left Party.PDS in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2006/07.
