Struggles for liberation from exploitation and domination quickly reach their limits at the national level in the face of the globalisation of capitalist relations. The need for the international organisation of wage-earners and other dominated groups is becoming increasingly clear. 
At the same time, given the hierarchical international division of labour and the unequal development in different countries and regions, the conditions of struggle continue to be very different and require strategies adapted to the respective conditions.
