International / Transnational
Society and politics in the globalized capitalism of the 21st century can only be understood in an international context. We live in an age of ongoing transnationalization of social issues, conflicts and problems. Although the reaction to these developments has been a retreat to the nation-state in many places, socio-political alternatives can only be conceived globally. International issues and transnational perspectives play an important role for the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung. We deal with global migration and refugee movements, as well as with transnational social movements and international solidarity. We work with our partners around the world to promote social and democratic rights, global social rights, and a just socio-ecological transformation of society. With regard to international/transnational topics, the Centre for International Dialogue and Cooperation, the Institute for Critical Social Analysis, and the Academy for Political Education provide numerous educational opportunities for networking, discussion, knowledge acquisition and political organization.
