– Railroad worker; charged with attempted high treason in 1916; member of the Spartacus League and the Workers’ and Soldiers’ Council in the Berlin District of Neukölln in 1918; played a leading role in the occupation of the Vorwärts offices during the January riots of 1919; official representative of the rail workers’ union DEV from 1922.
