Georg Ledebour

1850–1947

– Social Democratic politician; member of the Reichstag from 1900 to 1918; participant in the Zimmerwald (1915) and Kiental (1916) conferences; member of the USPD party leadership from 1917; member of the Executive Council of the Workers’ and Soldiers’ Councils of Berlin; one of the leaders of the January uprising in 1919; jailed from January to June 1919, released after trial; remained in the USPD until 1922, joined the SAPD (Socialist Workers’ Party of Germany) in 1931; emigrated in 1933.
