Social Media has been an essential tool for activists to spread their message over the course of the last years. Optimists see facebook and Instagram as a key tool, to organize people. At the same time those platforms are extremely intransparent, inherently undemocratic and have to follow the capitalist logic just like any other company. Our speakers will discuss this paradox and raise the question. Can social media be a tool for the many?
