Vierzehn Jahre nachdem die Bill-und-Melinda-Gates-Stiftung die Allianz für eine Grüne Revolution in Afrika – kurz AGRA – gegründet hat, steht fest: Der AGRA-Ansatz ist an den eigenen Zielen gescheitert. 30 Prozent mehr Menschen hungern in den 13 AGRA-Schwerpunktländern und das Verschuldungsrisiko für Kleinbauern und -bäuerinnen hat sich erhöht. Zudem werden traditionelle klimaresistente und nährstoffreiche Nahrungsmittel verdrängt. Das belegt die Analyse eines deutsch-afrikanischen zivilgesellschaftlichen Bündnisses, die in dieser Online-Veranstaltung vorgestellt und diskutiert werden soll.

Fourteen years after the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation founded the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).  It is evident that the AGRA approach has failed to achieve its own goals. 30 percent more people are suffering from hunger in the 13 AGRA priority countries and the risk of debt for small-scale food producers has increased. In addition, traditional climate-resilient and nutritious crops are being replaced by maize. This is shown by the analysis of a German-African civil society alliance that will be presented and discussed in this online event.
