Ines Schwerdtner studied political science and English language and literature. She has worked as a journalist and presenter of political pocasts. Between 2020 and 2023, she was editor-in-chief of the German-language edition of the socialist magazine Jacobin. Schwerdtner was elected co-chair of Die Linke in October 2024. Until the election, she was employed as a consultant to the Chair of the Executive Board of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung.
