The publications of the RLS Office in Greece shed light on the darkest part of refugee management: unaccompanied minors. This comparative report captures information on the protection of unaccompanied minors in the European South and provides a critical account of national and European policies and their implementation. The research is based on interviews with professionals working with unaccompanied minors as well as policy papers, regulations and laws, and records evidence of the impact on minors of inadequate and malfunctioning protective systems and their social exclusion. The Greek part of the research is signed by Elina Sarantou (HIAS Greece) and Angeliki Theodoropoulou (Greek Refugee Council).

Elina Sarantou is an anthropologist with an MA in Human Rights, currently working for HIAS Greece in Lesvos.

Aggeliki Theodoropoulou is a lawyer with years of experience in refugee protection. She has worked extensively in the field with refugees and unaccompanied children in several parts of Greece.
