Why Did Erdoğan Win the Turkish Elections?
For over 20 years, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his AKP have dominated Turkish politics. Despite severe economic crisis and inflation, mismanagement during the devastating earthquake and corruption, the president was re-elected. Although the election was marked by repression against Kurds and oppositionists members, massive media manipulation and election gifts, the question is why Erdoğan was elected and what his agenda for the coming years will be.
