Emil Eichhorn

1863–1925

– Social Democratic and Communist politician; leader of the Social Democratic press office from 1908 to 1917 and, in 1917, of the newspaper service of the USPD; member of the USPD from 1917 to 1920; Chief of the Berlin Police from November 1918 to the beginning of January 1919; during the eventually successful attempt to remove him from office, he withdrew to the Bötzow brewery with his troops to dissolve the unit, and hid for eight days in Weidenweg, then Braunschweig; member of the Reichstag and the KPD from 1920.
