Karl Liebknecht

– Social Democratic politician; member of the Reichstag from 1912–1916; first and only member of parliament to vote against the wartime credits on 2 December 1914; Co-founder of the Spartacus Group; detained from 1 May 1916 to 23 October 1918; affiliation to the USPD in 1917; 1918 co-founder of the KPD; murdered together with Rosa Luxemburg by German soldiers on 15 January 1919.
