Kurt Tucholsky

– journalist and writer; the main author and, from 1927, editor of the weekly magazine Die Weltbühne; his book, Deutschland, Deutschland über alles (named after the German national anthem and written together with John Heartfield, 1929) made him the object of constant attacks and the abiding hatred of the German right; committed suicide in emigration.
