Leo Jogiches

– alias: Tyszka. Lithuanian-Russian Social Democrat, Co-founder of the SDKP (subsequently SDKPiL – Social Democracy of the Kingdom of Poland and Lithuania) in Zurich in 1893; partner of Rosa Luxemburg 1892–1907; both would remain lifelong partners politically; alongside Rosa Luxemburg, Franz Mehring, and Karl Liebknecht, Jogiches was one of the leading intellectual figureheads of the Spartacus League; murdered by police inside the prison of Moabit in Berlin on 10 March 1919.
