Otto Rühle

1864–1943

– Social Democratic and Communist politician; Member of the Reichstag 1912–1918, votes against the war credits with Karl Liebknecht in 1915/16; participant at the Spartacus Group Reich Congress in 1916, chairman of the Revolutionary Workers’ and Soldiers’ Council of Greater Dresden in 1918; leads the anti-parliamentary opposition at the KPD founding congress; is expelled at the Heidelberg congress in October 1919; co-founder of the KAPD from which he is also expelled in October 1920, joins the AAUE in 1921; emigrates in 1933.
