I. Fundamental issues of Left parties

The hegemony of neoliberalism, the collapse of state socialism, the deep crisis of the Left and its organisations – parties, trade unions and social movements – as well as tendencies for a new beginning are marking the current situation of deep-rooted change. Everything must be revisited. The old and the new Left is in a process of strategic search. In the following some positions of the current discussion are presented. All questions that have moved the Left for more than 200 years are put in a new way. In which society are we living? Is it reformable, is a revolution feasible or can it be transformed? What is the strategic aim of the Left? Which are the relations between parties, trade unions, social movements and left intellectuals?
